History
Our History
The development of our group of companies
1965
Founder Mr. Shih Sui-Sheng established a foundry in Fengyuan, supplying metal materials to the machinery industry.
1976
Added a machinery division, vertically integrating materials and manufacturing of machinery and hand tools, and expanded into exports.
1983
Upgraded to high-frequency induction furnaces to produce high-grade ductile iron and custom materials.
1992
Founded Xin Jie Environmental Engineering Co., Ltd., entering the end-of-life vehicle recycling industry in response to environmental policy.
1992
Founded the End-of-Life Vehicle Recycling Association and served as its founding chairman, uniting the industry in policy dialogue.
2000
Founded Gi Ho Chen Environmental Technology Corp. and built a vehicle shredding and sorting plant in the Changhua Coastal Industrial Park.
2014
Founded Dong Hui Energy Co., Ltd., expanding into solar power systems in support of green energy policy.
2024
Founded Ji Yi Sheng Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., adding a plant for recycling and recovering resources from waste home appliances.

The core business of Gi Ho Chen Environmental Technology is shredding and sorting end-of-life vehicles for resource recovery. Certified by the Ministry of Environment as a subsidized recycler of car shells and scrap iron cans, we achieve a high resource recovery rate with 1,500-horsepower high-efficiency shredding and material sorting equipment.

How We Recycle End-of-Life Vehicles
STEP 1
Collection & Dismantling

Dismantling plants collect vehicles, remove hazardous fluids and take them apart; each type of component goes to a specialized processor to become secondary material.
STEP 2
Shredding & Sorting
Gi Ho Chen
Car shells are shredded at our plant and separated by air classification, magnetic separation, eddy current and particle screening.
STEP 3
Resource Recovery
Secondary materials · SRF
Iron, copper, aluminum, plastics, glass and sand are recovered for reuse; automotive shredder residue (ASR) is made into solid recovered fuel (SRF).

A Group Dedicated to Conserving Resources
Mr. Shih Sui-Sheng, founder of Gi Ho Chen Environmental Technology, entered industry after graduating from National Changhua Industrial High School in 1959. In 1965 he founded Yuan Rui Hsing Iron Works, casting metal machine parts, and later expanded through vertical integration into manufacturing machinery and hand tools for export.
Guided by professionalism and integrity, the founder and management team have grown step by step, keeping pace with industry trends and environmental policy. The group expanded into the resource recycling industry, establishing vehicle recycling and shredding plants as well as recycling plants for waste home appliances and IT equipment. In 1992 the founder brought together industry peers to establish the End-of-Life Vehicle Recycling Association of the Republic of China, promoting professional operations in the recycling industry. Today the group also spans logistics and solar power services — a team that puts the circular economy into practice.
